Nicolaas Adrianus (Nic) Roozekrans, son of Adrianus Simon (Aad) Roozekrans and Maria Hendrica (Marie) de Koning. Born 20 Aug 1923, died 6 May 2018 Anacortes, Washington, age 94 years, buried 12 May 2018 St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anacortes Washington Nic Roozekrans (94) of Mount Vernon died peacefully on May 6, 2018. Nic was born on August 20, 1923 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. After the conclusion of WWII, in December 1947, Nic traveled to the United States to work for his uncle Cornelius Roozekrans selling imported Dutch bulbs to growers throughout the United States and Canada. In 1951, Nic began working for the Washington Bulb Company in Mount Vernon. Nic was a longtime employee of Washington Bulb Company and the Roozen family. Nic was extremely proud to be anintegral part of the small bulb farm that flourished and grew into the largest tulip grower in the world. While working as a traveling bulb salesman, Nic met Corry Stokman in Niagara on the Lake, Canada. Nic and Corry were married in 1961 and had three sons Francis, Charles, and Michael. Nic was a quiet, private and content person, he enjoyed working in his garden and listening to music. He was an avid reader who frequently completed a book in a day or two.
